Couples Session Spotlight - D&A
This couple was So. Much. FUN! D&A traveled all the way up from Florida to see me. D is actually a boudoir photographer herself and she wanted a two day experience. One for a full day Deluxe Mentoring session (you can even see her at work during that day at the top of my ‘For Photographers’ page!) and the next day we put the lessons to practice for her own boudoir couples session with her hubby, A!
Where do you two feel like you’re at, at this point in your life?
We’d been married just under a year at the point of our session, and we’re still very much in the honeymoon phase. We’re really just loving experiencing life together, and all it’s possibilities!
What made you want to experience a couples boudoir session?
I booked a couples boudoir session for us as a wedding gift to A. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if he would go for it, but I tested the waters by showing some couples boudoir photos I found online, just to see his reaction. His face immediately lit up and he said, “OH MY GOSH can we PLEASEEE get pictures like that one day??” So, I was pretty sure he would love the experience.
At our wedding, when I told him I had booked a session for us, he was so excited about it! I really booked it because I thought it would be fun - and it was! But, it also ended up being therapeutic, in a way, as well. I have vaginismus, which I didn’t discover until our wedding night, and so intimacy was a struggle for us, especially early on. So, after we had such a rocky start, it was amazing for us to have these photos celebrating the physical intimacy we’ve worked so hard to create together
How did you feel: Before during, and after your Boudoir Session?
Before our session, we were SO excited! A and I spent hours and hours putting together the perfect outfits for us to wear, including a Doctor who themed set (we’re huge fans, we even had a doctor who themed wedding!) and we spent several days hand crafting a sequined body harness. A and I as such a perfect match. He loved picking out outfits and accessories as much as I did!
We live in Florida, so we made a whole vacation out of it. The session was amazing. Tasha is quirky and energetic and really made us feel right at home! She’s quite talented with hair and makeup artistry and even more skilled behind the camera! We couldn’t have asked for a better day.
The next day, I woke up quite sore from all the back arching, but it was 100% worth it! I love the images Tasha created for us and I would recommend her to anyone. I’m already thinking about how and when we can get up there again!
What was your favorite part of your experience?
My favorite part was the way this experience brought Antonio and me even closer together. I think it’s a beautiful experience for any couple to have, and you can’t go wrong by choosing Tasha as your photographer. She’s creative and inspiring and clearly pours her heart into her art. It was a privilege to be one of her clients!
